Trade Minister, Zulkifli Hasan with Acting Governor of Banten, Al Muktabar; The Regent of Serang, Ratu Tatu Chasanah, and the Deputy Regent of Serang, Pandji Tirtayasa cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the Central Market for Agricultural Products and MSME Business Products which took place in Serang Regency, Banten, Thursday (28 July). Central markets for agricultural products and products for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are infrastructure to facilitate and increase trade transactions. This market is part of efforts to accelerate the growth of the local economy and support national economic recovery. In his direction, the Minister of Trade said that the Ministry of Trade has the task of supporting food security and price stabilization, maintaining a balanced trade balance, and facilitating the development/revitalization of people's markets. The Minister of Trade added that we need to maintain optimism about post-pandemic economic revival. The infrastructure that we are launching today is one part of an effort that can accelerate the growth of the local economy in Serang Regency in particular, as well as support national economic recovery in general. In increasing trade transactions in people's markets, the Ministry of Trade has also set a target of implementing digitalization in 2022 in 1,000 people's markets and 1,000,000 MSMEs throughout Indonesia. On this occasion, the Minister of Trade together with the Regent of Serang also launched the 'Metrology Literacy Society' program (3M Program). This program aims to promote metrology and foster a culture of orderly measurement in society.
